(1) A person who acts contrary to this Act shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with a fine which may extend to one lakh rupees or with both. A person who discourages or assists in such work shall be punished with imprisonment up to three months or a fine of up to fifty thousand rupees or both.
